Inspire and Innovate Fund

Inspire and Innovate Fund is a funding opportunity through the Youth Alliance for small organisations and groups to apply for up to £2000 to support projects in Derby City that benefit disadvantaged and at-risk young people and families. The themes for Inspire and Innovate can change according to current needs of the city and have been previously focussed on targeted diversionary activities and the cost of living crisis.

Previously, Inspire and Innovate has funded projects run by some of our Children and Young People's network group members, such as:

Anansi Theatre: Weekly drama sessions for girls and young women of colour in Normanton, to support their Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing.

Bridge the Gap Child Mental Health: Craft group sessions, to help children with emotional literacy, coping mechanisms and self esteem.

Deda Derby: School and community based dance workshops, targeting young people from disadvantaged backgrounds who may usually have barriers around accessing dance sessions.

Derby Trailblazers: Basketball sessions for young people in Derwent Ward, to reduce anti-social behaviour.

St Werburgh's Church: Homework club sessions, hot food and drinks after-school, including support for children with additional needs around school work and self esteem.

Enthusiasm Trust: Cook Slow and Go - empowering disadvantaged families to learn to cook healthy and affordable meals in a social setting, with slow cookers given to the families taking part.

More information about previous Inspire and Innovate Fund grants is within our Youth Alliance 22/23 evaluation.
