Yesterday we held our December 2024 Children and Young People's Network meeting at Safe and Sound Group's Osmaston Youth Hub.
Helen presented the progress of the Derby Youth Alliance thus far, and plans to improve and expand the structure going forwards.
Tim presented Youth Work and Social Work Apprenticeships at University of Derby and making this accessible to employers as well as youth workers.
Megan presented about Prevent and the services they offer around preventing people being drawn into and getting involved with violent extremism.
Susie presented the Lancaster Model report about the health of our city’s children across Reception, Year 6 and Year 9.
Cllr Hezelgrave thanked attendees for their collaborative approach towards supporting young people in Derby City and spoke about the council's plans going forwards.
Michelle briefed the group on Littleover Community School’s next marketplace event.
Michelle also briefed the group on Derby Youth Alliance's new webpages Get Involved! and Consultations and Reports.
Following a networking break where attendees reflected and gave feedback upon the benefits of attending the CYPN meetings, Michelle and Brett randomly selected an attendee from the gift bag to win a Christmas hamper for their office to thank them for their feedback.
The next CYPN will be held in 2025 - date and location to be confirmed.
