Yesterday we held our October 2024 Children and Young People's Network meeting at Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain, Derby Branch.
Sam and Alisha (Derby Youth Mayor and Deputy) ran a workshop around Youth Voice and Engagement, discussing topics such as barriers to listening to young people, what does co-producing with young people look like, and what could be improved within Derby City to enable young people to have more input into the way services are created and ran.
Shelley (Policy and Consultation Manager, Derby City Council) discussed Derby's Poverty Strategy, and invited attendees to discuss what is missing that affects our city's young people and families and how could this be embedded into the Poverty Strategy going forwards.
The next CYPN will be held on 17th December 10am-12pm - location is to be confirmed.
